Preface:
Imuhagh and Tehenu, are the indigenous tamachek libyco-berber/Egyptians meanings for the modern day arab-bastardized word Tuareg. In reality, we are an north African stock of Kushites, the long lost extension of the East African Ethio-Somalinoid nations. Below you will find a various of similarities and proof of our cousin kinship relations.
1) Genetics
- Berbers and East Africans share a high frequency of the Haplogroup E1b1b.. According to sources, Somalis carry a 70% , while berbers in Azawad and Morocco share up to 65% of this genetic marker. Knowing that berbers are only 5% away from being a full blooded Horner, places berbers not just as cousins, but as intimate relatives blooded brothers and sisters.
“The extreme long-heads, concentrated in the Hoggar and in parts of the Algerian plateau are the Tuareg and the purer families of ancestral nomadic Berbers, preserving the head form which they brought from East Africa, their Hamitic homeland.” Source:(Carleton Coon The Races of Europe, p. 257 1979 reprint).
2) Pastoral Nomadic Life
- In tradition, way of life, and culture. Imuhagh, Afar, and Somali clans have always lived the pastorals nomadic life of a herder, and have traded various livestock of camel, sheep, goat, and donkey.
3) Warrior spirit
Whether it's the fierce somali-cushitic clans fighting off the British, Ethiopians fighting off the Italians, or the imuhagh defending their territory from France, we have always been a group of people to take no shit(excuse my french)... Fast forwarding today, Imuhaghs and Somali people are continuing to prove their warrior spirit by leaving their women to do the praying while the men pick up arms and protect, avenge, and stand tall.. While ISIS is prevalent in Libya and kidnapping native clans, there's a still void why ISIS have fully bypassed the Imuhagh while passing through Southern Libya of Ghat.
4) Native hair-styles
Imuhagh women share very similar hair-styles oto Tigre, Tigrayana, and Habeasha women..A long braid is usually wrapped around or exposed on the fore-head
5) Ceremonial dance
In traditional marriages or festivities, Imuhagh women paint their faces to sway away evil and to show gratitude to their past ancestors, followed by music and dance, accompanied by a griot playing a stringed instrument called tindi.. This dance and music is known as Issikta , which translates to memory/remember
Ethiopians also have traditional ceremony of dance known as Eskista, which can be accompanied by modern instruments such as the keyboard or traditional string instruments the krar.
6) Kingdom and Linguistics
The fact that North Africans were called berbers and had an ancient kingdom named Numidia who ruler was King Juba, and Somalis were also were also called berbers in the continent of Africa is dumfounding. In present day Somalia, there lives two cities called Berbera, Juba, and Jubaland, and Juba river... Juba is also a traditional ethnic name amongst berbers and Somali people.. These very similarities are profound evidence of the Somali-Imuhagh-Berber connection....
